Oh...so...you're not dead!
Hi!

Here's a post to let everyone know what I've been up to (to those of you still talking to me or listening to my rants...).

First off, I still have the Brian/Justin love, I just wasn't up much for conversation regarding the dynamic duo and my muse took a little vacation at the same time. Whatever I wrote just sounded like crap to me at the time. I couldn't even bring myself to write anything in lj regarding what was going on in life in general.

Why, you ask?

Well, for the past 2 years, I've been having gall bladder (and stones) issues. About 6 months ago I started popping Motrin like crazy to stave off the pain.

About 2 months ago the pain became unbearable and not even 8 Motrim at a time was working so I finally, finally sought out treatment.

I'm feeling much better now however I almost had one episode in the past 2 weeks so I'm not out of the woods yet. I wish I had done something about this sooner. I won't go into the gory details because, well, ewww!

Actually this was one of the reasons why I didn't talk about it on lj and didn't feel like posting - I didn't really want to bother anyone with it.

Anywho, also during this time, my cook has been sitting in jail - there was no fucking way I could bail him out this time so I've been working longer hours (and yep, you got it, with the pain!)

Well the good news is that we own our Expedition again as we pulled his bail from the other 2 times because he would be sitting in county jail for at least 2 months.

So go us!

And it's a good thing too! I live in the greater Pacific Northwest here and November seemed to be disaster month! Apparently the floods that happened soon after Halloween (Election Week) made National News! And you know how you can become super-complacent when it comes to things like that because you say things like, 'that could never happen here because it hasn't in like, 100 years?'

Well that was me! The stream that flows in front of our property that runs off the lake on the top side of the mountain above us decided to flood too. I had the roaring rapids on the road in front of my house and it took out half of our driveway. It pretty much tore apart the road about 2 houses down and our road into civilization became a lake. Luckily our house wasn't under water - we're a bit high up but the same can't be said for some of my neighbors down the road. Yes, I went from a mere mom driving her Expedition to a U-Boat Commander.

Everything's okay now and here are some pics if anyone's interested:

I swear there was a road here - btw, this is the road in front of our house!

And another view of the street.

I'd load more but I lj is being too slow and seriously, this is old news now.

So once everyone calmed down from that and we celebrated Thanksgiving - oh yeah - Thanksgiving! Hubby decided to do the turkey this year because he really wanted to. So to make a long story short (I don't even want to go into what happened to that poor, poor bird) we had Thanksgiving cod this year.

Hey, in a hundred years, who'll care?!

Anywho, after Thanksgiving it decided to snow and we had record temperatures. Now it's snowed here before and where I live it tends to get more rainfall and cold than the greater Seattle area - but holy shit! I actually got caught in a blizzard Monday night and when we going down the main highway to get back home, the only highway BTW, we were confronted by not one, not two, but three trucks which all collided into each other, blocking the entire freeway! Hubby had to get out and help one of the guys move his truck so people could pass by allowing emergency vehicles to arrive.

Whew!

So November's been a blast but I'm glad December's here al-fucking-ready.

On a light note, we spray-painted Griffon's hair black, got him a Hogwarts robe and some fake glasses and voila! He went as Harry Potter for halloween! Isn't he cute?

Okay, enough gushing.

So even though my muse was kaput for awhile, I still did a little writing. I've got the next chapter of my cannibal fic almost ready - I need to fine tune it and then it's good to go if anyone is still reading it. I left Mikey in mortal peril last time I updated.

There's still my Omen spoof with Justin as the anti-christ who wants to get laid. Then there's a post-513 story which is actually serious (but not angst-ridden).

Anyways, so let me know if anyone's updated anything or what you're writing or if I missed your birthday or what's up in general!

You've got floods and blizzards - we've got the worst drought on record. There is someone/something out there with a perverted sense of humour.
Sorry about your pain though - hope that you are well and truely on the mend.
Maria: BJ Guh Showerslave_o_spike on December 2nd, 2006 04:47 am (UTC)
I am on the mend - for the first time in quite a-fucking-while! Thank you for your well wishes.

And drought, huh? I know that Austrailia tends to be dry (or that might be my myopic viewpoint) but I think you're right - someone has a serious fucked up sense of humor.

And I love the way our state government here will say we're in a drought when the rainfall doesn't surpass the years before. We live in the fucking wettest state here!
Still want him in your pack?_alicesprings on December 2nd, 2006 09:43 am (UTC)
It hasn't rained properly in 5 years. Lots of farmers are going broke and killing themselves :|

Any-way.. welcome back!! So sorry to hear of health woes :(

Can't wait for more cannibal fic! *hugs*
Maria: B/J ILUslave_o_spike on December 3rd, 2006 02:29 am (UTC)
More cannibal fic on the way (this next chapter should shed some light on what happened in the last chapter).

I'm sorry about your weather woes there. I grew up in Southern California so I know about the whole drought situation but you never stop to think about how it affects the farmers.

I'm feeling better now - thanks for the well wishes!

*hugs and kisses*

Hi baby!

I starting to get serious about coming to work for you. I can't find anything here.

I had my gallbladder out-the time leading up to it SUCKED!

Holy floodwaters, batman! Someone left the bathtub running!

Griffon looked ADORABLE!

SQUEE!

big hugs, honey. And eat lowfat food.
Maria: Spike I'm Backslave_o_spike on December 2nd, 2006 04:50 am (UTC)
I didn't want my gall bladder out because I wanted to try and fix the problem before having to do that. My mom has so many problems now because she had hers taken out (I'm not saying you will - I just think digestion problems might run in my family).

Griffon was so cute that night (his hair was longer in the summer so had we not gotten it cut, he would've looked even more like Harry!)

And yeah - I know about the foods. I'm on an elimination diet right now - it's eliminated everything I can eat!

Hugs ya back!

It took me about 5 years to get my digestion back on track, and i still have IBS. But like you, digestion problems run in the family.

My biggest issue? I'm a big old wuss. After 3 attacks? I couldn't take it anymore.
Maria: BJ copulatingslave_o_spike on December 3rd, 2006 02:27 am (UTC)
I remember thinking after the 3rd attack I might have a problem. I think it was after the 9th attack that my husband rushed me to the emergency room and then I was introduced to the wonderful world of Motrim (they gave me an IV of the stuff).

I held the problem at bay with 6-8 Motrim at a shot - not really a viable solution because in the end, I developed a resistance to the stuff.

My family told me under no circucmstances to have it cut out - so I opted for treatment. It's time-comsuming and hard work but I'm happier about it.

Still, I know what you mean - there were times I just wanted to get the damn thing cut out!
Hating you makes me all warm inside.: b/j crotch snugglehappier_bunny on December 2nd, 2006 05:16 am (UTC)
Hugs you tight!

I've missed you and none of this bored me.

I'm glad you're feeling better.

Hooray for revoking bails. LOL

Glad you didn't have more flood damage!

I'm sooo glad you came back...cuz really, you've been missed!!!

ps. Your son looks adorable as Harry Potter
Maria: B/J ILUslave_o_spike on December 3rd, 2006 02:22 am (UTC)
*hugs you right back*

And yay for bail revoking! He was in jail this time for a crime he committed awhile back - not traffix related - so there was nothing I could do this time. He had to serve the time and it would be at least 2 months.

And I'm glad to be back too! I've really missed you guys too!

I can't wait to start posting my RL posts and fic soon.
xnickstax on December 2nd, 2006 05:20 am (UTC)
Oh Slave-o-spike I hope your feeling better now, even if its just a little.
Im amazed at the pictures of the flooding, I can now expect that here in Austraia since yesterday was the first day of summer yay for us (not)

Im sooo happy to know that you have another chapter of the cannibal fic, ahh im screaming with joy. What devious pleasures will you bring us this time round.I hope things ease up on you. RL by the sounds of it keeps you more than on your toes.

Take care of yourself ok

Ya know - I think my RL is truly stranger than the fiction that I write! LOL!

I have some fun things in store for my favorite cannibals. You'll have to stay tuned...

Thank you - I'm feeling better now even though I don't feel 100% just yet. Then again, I've been pregnant 5 times so feeling 100% is not top on my list of priorities.

You're the third person who's talked about the state of rainfall in your country. Hope things are okay over there.

*hugs*

Good to see you back, even if soggy and cod filled. BTW, completely get the gall bladder thing.
Maria: money shotslave_o_spike on December 3rd, 2006 02:16 am (UTC)
Are you a fellow gall bladder survivor also? Only those who have experienced the pain from those attacks truly knows what I mean. Some of the doctors that I saw just wanted to cut my gall bladder out but I opted for treatment instead. It's more tiresome and you have to work harder but I think the long-term results will be worth it.

soggy and cod filled

...just about sums up November for me. I like cod better anyways.

Now hubby wants to experiment with duck now though...

*hides roasting pans*

Thanks for your well-wishes!

I've missed you so MUCH!!! So happy to see you post. Glad you are feeling better.

Flooding........that is something!!!

Your son looks so like Harry Potter!!! I loved seeing that photo.

AGAIN........so glad to see you are back!!! And while I am happy that you are writing again, I more happy that you are still filled with B/J love and fandom love for us cause we sure love you.

;-)

Maria: B/J ILUslave_o_spike on December 3rd, 2006 02:13 am (UTC)
Well I love you too Callie. *sob*

And thank you. I do feel much better now and it's so good to be back!

Griffon looked so great that night but I wish the picture came out bigger and clearer.

Also, have you made some new icon posts? I've seen some beautiful b&w icons circulating around - are those yours? I'm in severe need of some new icons.

*hugs*
charlie_jaecharlie_jae on December 2nd, 2006 05:07 pm (UTC)
I think I stood staring at that flooded road pic awhile trying to imagine the actual road, cause it looked like a freakin river. Glad you guys are doing ok.

That pic of Griffon is so cute, I went as batgirl this year. Yes I dressed up, lol.

Maria: Neil Mysterious Skinslave_o_spike on December 3rd, 2006 02:10 am (UTC)
Batgirl, huh? Oh yeah...

I remember being 19 and going as a witch to this college frat party. So dressing up seems okay to me and yes, Griffon was really cute that night. Every single house he went to, the person handing out candy commented on him.

And the road was a river. The property one up from mine had to have a rescue team come in and get the occupants out of the house because the 'new' river went around their house and they couldn't cross. But we're doing okay.

Is your icon from the movie Mysterious Skin?

Maria: Shaun That's it I'd like to be shotslave_o_spike on December 3rd, 2006 02:06 am (UTC)
*waves*

My driveway is actually fixed now. The county guys came in to fix the road (they put a fire under their ass on that road because it leads up to the multi-million dollar homes of those pesky MicroSoft execs) and they fixed our driveway for free because my eldest daughter batted her eyelashes at them.

I couldn't see the second picture for some reason today. Weird.

My gall bladder is doing much better thank you very much but for awhile there the pain was just too fucking much.

Labor without drugs was easier.

The cook should be getting out soon though (after he's served his time).

The next update on my cannibal fic should be enlightening and yes, Griffon was so damn cute!

So how's it going with you? Have you found a new job yet?

*hugs you tight*
firehead30: Jennifer Hugfirehead30 on December 4th, 2006 03:08 am (UTC)
As many hugs as you need
I must say Griffon was an excellent Harry Potter! WOW My youngest went as Harry Potter one year and I thought I had done an good job on his costume, but Griffon looks perfect!

I understand about the flooding. I don't think Portland got hit as badly has Seattle area, but we had our fair share of wet as well. I was creeping my way home one day across the Glen Jackson Bridge on the 205 and one of those huge Excursions came barreling through and hydroplaned across two lanes of traffic and ended up on the right hand shoulder facing the opposite way of traffic. It scared me so badly I don't remember the rest of the drive home. No one was hit or hurt, it was amazing.

I am so glad you sought treatment for the gall bladder issues. Me ex suffered as well until he sought treatment and he is doing much better now. I am glad November is over as well.....it was a bit horrid except for Thanksgiving which was extremely lovely.

There's still my Omen spoof with Justin as the anti-christ who wants to get laid. Then there's a post-513 story which is actually serious (but not angst-ridden). OH PLEASE let your muse come back soon. I miss your crack!fic!!!! Your touch is sorely missed. *sniffles and whines*

I am so happy to see you posted!!!!!

Re: As many hugs as you need
You know, the story of the Excursion really reminds me of why I get pissed off at most SUV drivers. They seem to think that because it's a SUV, they're above all things like, oh I dunno, knowing how to actually drive in inclement weather.

I don't know how many accidents I saw involving SUVs. If you know how to use the technology, it's great. If you don't and you drive it the same all year round, hydroplaing and ending in someone else's lane is what'll happen.

Okay, rant over.

I'm so glad I sought treatment. Seriously - just too too much pain!

And speaking of my muse...I just posted (tonight!) the next chapter of my cannibal fic! So go read and enjoy and I'm glad that the flooding didn't get too bad in your area - it was just too much here!

*takes all the hugs you could give*
