Pics of my kids and other stuff...
Good news. My What to do when you're doing hard time Orlibean standalone was well received. I was a bit afraid it wouldn't.

Someone asked how I was able to make people, sociopaths specifically, likable.

I think back to my making the Queer as Folk gang cannibals and all I can say is:

It's a gift.

*winks*

It's just that I'm not sure being the criminally insane's spokesperson is a good idea. :P

So I'm not sure, but it's been a looooong time since I've posted some pics of the kids. Under the cut are a few of Donovan and Rowan (my two youngest).

Just in case you've ever wondered where someone like me lives, I can assure you it's not in a white, padded room.

LOL!

So here is the waterfall that's in the forest behind our property:

I don't know but they look awfully guilty:

Playing hide and seek in the forest:

And here's Donovan disrupting the badminton game at the annual 4th of July bonanza:

You will also note Rowan and Griffon's butt in the background, getting ready to set off some minor fireworks.

Photobucket

"Aw sweet success! I have acquired a racket and a birdie! Victory is mine!"

Photobucket

"Too little to play, huh? Well I'll show them. I've got all the birdies!" *Mwhahahaha

"No Rowan! You swing from the bars!!!"

Photobucket

I wish I had gotten some better pics of Griffon on the 4th. Next to Christmas, it's his favorite holiday.

Seriously.

He loves the big mortars and the splashy stuff that hubby brings out at night, but he adores the minor ones that he can set off for fun.

Just so you know, I'm sticking to my resolve to write an hour each day.

So, go me!!!!!

Yeah it is. Except for the cougars.

And bears.

LOL!

Thank you! But they're getting so big. Why can't they stay babies for longer? *pouts*

Lovely pics of your family and your neck of the Pac NW. From your neighbor to the south, in Oregon.

Your kids are beautiful.

And, go you with the writing an hour a day.

You don't live in the Silverton area, do you?

Cuz that's where my sister-in-law lives.

Pray you don't know her. LOL!

Thanks! They are cuties. :)

OMG! I LOVE that waterfall! I'm an absolute sucker for waterfalls of any kind for some strange reason. If I go out and take my camera, if there's a waterfall, I'll take a dozen pics, and nothing else! LOL

You have gorgeous kids too, Maria.
Maria: Sean Bean slave_o_spike on July 18th, 2008 03:19 pm (UTC)
You would love this one!

My neighbors went to Hawaii a few years back. Everyone told them about this waterfall they had to see. They saw it. Took pictures. Stood in front of it and then left.

When they came back and showed me the pics, we still agreed we loved our better. LOL!

Thanks, they are cuties (and they know it. :P)

Those are some sweet pics, reminds me of that summer I spent in my aunts house. Her backyard was like a whole nother world.
Maria: Spudyman!!!slave_o_spike on July 18th, 2008 03:22 pm (UTC)
Yeah. I remember when I first discovered this. I was so amazed!

I asked hubby if he knew.

He was amazed too!

That forest the kids are playing hide and seek in? There's hardly any sun that gets in between the trees. That's why the ground looks the way it does.
shadownycshadownyc on July 18th, 2008 11:19 am (UTC)
Those pictures are absolutely heavenly and the kids look wonderful.
Maria: B/J ILUslave_o_spike on July 18th, 2008 03:23 pm (UTC)
The kids are doing good, except for all the stupid colds and coughs and spider bites and whatnot. LOL!

And yeah, it's my little slice of heaven here. :)

Thanks! *hugs*

Great pics! How hard is it keeping them ut of the water? My boys would be in there all the time.

I have a firework nut too, he gets it from my father . The louder and brighter the better.

Love the pic of Donovan holding the one birdie, that look is going to get him into, and out of, so much trouble!
Maria: Justin smilingslave_o_spike on July 18th, 2008 03:29 pm (UTC)
Actually, they're pretty good about making sure I'm with them when they go. *wipes forehead in relief*

We also have a big lake nearby and that's where Griffon wants to go all the time. The kids have gone kayaking in it.

Yep, the louder and brighter the better. Hubby's gotten very good at buying fireworks over the years. He now selects just the right ones that put on an amazing show. :)

Yeah, Donovan already has everyone eating out of the palm of his hand. When we were at the urgent care center, getting him looked at for his spider bites and rash, he was just sitting on the table quietly and shyly and all the nurses were trying to get him to talk to them with stickers and stuff. When they closed the door, he smiled at me.

LOL! What an operator!

Okay, that sounded more evil than what it really was, but you get the hint. :)

It's good to know that somewhere clear, fresh water is splashing down, unfettered and unspoiled. I love my city, and it holds all kinds of joys, but I grew up on a mountain top in the Ozarks, so I love wildness, too.

You know your kids are gorgeous, right? FanSee

Re: Pics
Yep, the water's here! LOL!

See? We're the opposite. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley (yeah, I'm one of the original Valley girls) so when we moved to here, I was suffering from a bit of culture shock.

Now? I could never go back! :)

Yeah, they are pretty darn cute (and know it too)!

Thanks FanSee!

Gorgeous waterfall and property, even more gorgeous kids. Yes, they do look like they are up to something in that one shot. But Maria, they wouldn't be your kids unless they had some bits of naughtiness.

Thank you so much for sharing. I am happy to read you are getting some writing time in.

It was so good to see you pop up on my flist.
Maria: raining treeslave_o_spike on July 18th, 2008 03:34 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I know. I would worry if they didn't have that guilty look on their faces every now and then. :P

Yep, getting in writing time finally cuz I'm making it! LOL!

Now, I was reading on my flist and saw you were having some issues with you know who.

Are you okay? Is it going okay now?

You can always call me. I don't like hearing when people who can't control their world, inflict this kind of thing on those they do have control over. :(

OMG! I wish my back yard looked like that!!! And that's a HUGE tree they're playing hide and seek behind. lol

Your kids are all so adorable!
Maria: hanging phonesslave_o_spike on July 22nd, 2008 11:37 pm (UTC)
Yes, those trees are very big. LOL!

They could both hide behind them and I still couldn't find them! :)

Thank you. They are cuties (and know it).
