Boy in Balloon update
Okay, when I'm caught being wrong, I'm man (or woman) enough to admit it.

I might have jumped the gun a bit yesterday.

Apparently during a Larry King interview, the boy might have let it slip that this was 'all for the show.'

I'm not sure. I didn't see the interview but I heard that the father went a few shades of white.

So if this was a hoax, shit, I don't care what they do to them (the parents). This just makes it all the harder later when a kid really does go missing.

I guess my emotions ran away with me yesterday because it had to do with the disappearance of a 6 year old boy and I just wanted everyone to shut up with the speculations.

Now it looks like the speculations were true (I think - I'm not saying anything more until I get the whole story and the actual facts).

Like Barnum said, 'there's one born every minute.'

I usually pride myself on not being one of those people, but yesterday, I had been born again. LOL!

Although, I wonder if P.T. would have appreciated the complexity of this one?

I'm still not too sure. All the accounts I've heard say the parents were genuinely worried, and that the police were the ones conducting the searches of the house where they didn't find him. And considering his brothers had been filming him earlier, it may all depend on what he means by 'show.'

Then again, I also refuse to watch anything that has to do with Wife Swap, so I could be completely wrong. :/

Um...I never heard of Wife Swap until yesterday. LOL!

I was just genuinely worried about the kid. I hope it wasn't a hoax perpetrated by the parents. If it was the boys, or if it was just a simple thing really of the kid accidentally letting the balloon go for the video and then getting scared, I don't think the parents should be held responsible then.

Like I said before, I'm waiting to post anything more until I hear what 'actually' happened.

They have shown part of that Larry King interview on our News over here where the boy indeed says something like 'it was for the show'.
I can't hear what the dad says after that (he's turned half away from the camera and microphone) and the subtitles didn't work at that point, but it does look suspiciousloy like a hoax.

I may respond after a long time, but I do eventually respond! LOL!

This has now been mentioned as one of the top 10 most scandalous stories of 2009.

And it certainly deserved it!

Good to see you around again! *g*

It certainly made the headlines.

I was rereading Death Becomes Him during the holidays... Sill love that story and still hoping you're going to finish it some day. :)
