Fic #3 - "Sometimes Teddy says the strangest things"
Here is the third of the fic requests!

brianswalk requested something post season 5 with Brian and Ted.

So here you go!

"I've decided I want to live."

"Uh, that's nice Theodore," Brian replied, perplexed as to what his chief financial officer was doing standing in his office saying something about as non-sequitur as things Ted could possibly say.

"I mean it. I want to live," he repeated defiantly.

"Is this one of those mid-life crisis things where you've decided to give up all your worldly possessions and hit the road to discover America? Because if it is, I want your vintage wine collection," Brian sad as he leaned back in his plush office chair.

"No, I've decided..."

"That you want to live. I know. I got the memo," Brian smirked.

"I like where I'm at right now in life. Thanks to you, I have a job that makes me want to get up in the morning..."

"You mean up as in get out of bed bacause I seriously don't need to know you're beating off..."

"I have a lover that makes me happy. You know Blake and I are becoming quite serious," Ted said dreamily, a wistful look on his determined face.

"Yeah, I saw that at Babylon. Could you please not do those things in public from now on..."

"And I just don't trust you to make the right decision anymore."

"Alright," Brian started in confusion. The conversation was not going where he thought it was supposed to be going.

"Five years ago, I didn't really care if I lived or died if something happened to me. I was in a dead end job, no boyfriend. Hell! Not even a decent occasional fuck. I left the decision up to you because you wouldn't care. But now, I do care so you're not my power of attorney anymore regarding my heath. I want to live!"

And with that Ted left Brian's office as abruptly as he had entered.

Of course, had Ted stayed one minute longer, he would have heard one Brian Kinney, the one everyone accused of not giving a shit, mutter "I want you to live too Ted."

Chuckling quietly to himself, Brian proceeded to get back to work on his desk.

Hope this is what you wanted brianswalk!

Regardless of the ridiculous left turn Ted took on the show (he SO couldn't have gone that druggie route in the real life I've imagined for QAF world), I loved how Ted and Brian's relationship developed into a real, grown-up friendship that did ring true. This is a delightful affirmation of how I see them.

Exactly! It was like I just told Susanne. I liked them together far more than him and Mikey because it seemed more grown up and based on Brian's needs as an adult male. He made friends with Michael when he was still a teenager.

Thank you. I wanted to show how I saw them as well. :)
