Men are good for something I suppose...
Okay, Joe is da man!

Seriously. :)

Before he started ordering parts and transferring my hard drive to his computer, he decided to open the damn thing up and voila!

He did this and that, used his Fluke meter, did a funny little dance, turned the thing on and wham!

I was on again. :)

What was the problem?

*looks sheepish*

Apparently someone *whistles innocently* dumped a whole batch of paper clips behind her desk and somehow they shorted out something behind the tower.

I don't know. I couldn't understand Mac speak (and Joe does it so well) but I got the one raised eyebrow look when all was said and done.

I hate when he does that. Makes me want to shave the damn thing right off his head.

So I'm here again. I'm going to respond to all the feedback that I haven't responded to so far.

I had planned on writing up my lasagna recipe for today (it's Friday after all) but I'll just have to do it tomorrow.

Good news though! All W-2's are out and my quarterly report to Employment
Security has been done and submitted so all's well there.

And for a walk down memory lane of lj entries past, for those of you who were around during my laptop woes, remember this picture? LOL!

So glad to hear it wasn't anything major. Thanks to my brother, I know enough to be able to check minor things out myself if I'm having problems with my computer. And my brother can come over if it's more serious.

Oooo!!! Lasagna! *licks lips* I can't wait. :D

Ermm... do I want to know what happened to that keyboard? lol

That's what good hubbys and brothers are there for.

And to fix the car. :)

Lasagna is coming. I have it half written.

And yeah. The post was mainly about how Joe took the keypad and lay in in the oven to dry out to fix it (it belonged to my old ibook). It dried it but he wanted to keep going. Then he bought me a new keypad on ebay. My daughter was there that night with her boyfriend and I forgot it was in there and she preheated the oven for brownies and well, next thing I knew, she was saying, "what's that smell?" and then I remembered and Joe remembered and we opened the oven door to see that keypad there! LOL! Like I said, I was getting a new one, but still...

You really should write a cookbook, with comments and all, and be sure to include the "Baked Keyboard" story.
Not just anyone can lay claim to a tasty keyboard.

I should write a cookbook. Joe really wants me to. So do all the women in the neighborhood (actually, one of the women wants me to teach a cooking class at her church).

If I did write a cookbook, that keypad would have its own chapter entitled, "How to bake computer equipment and all other household items in cases of emergency."

ROFLMAO!!! It reminds me of the day I bought a blue-ray player - I removed the DVD player, connected the BR, used a dozen clips to make sure every cord is as short as possible and nothings lies on the floor (arduous task, considering the fact there was about 12 inches room to work between the rack and the wall)....

Very proud of myself I put the first movie in and saw..... black and white, grainy pictures!!
I almost started to do it all over again, but thankfully I thought about calling my work buddy who loaned me the movie first. He said: "which movie do are you watching? .... Oh, yes, Quantum of Solace starts in black-and-white....." !!!

I'm glad your computer is okay. I know I couldn't manage without mine *pets laptop*

LOL! The movie started in black and white! LOL!

I hate when that happens.

Luckily there are several computers in the house (my daughter has a powerbook but she pretty much hogs it for herself, my son has an imac that I use when I need to but because of the stuff he has on it, it's pretty slow, hubby's is th one I have to use but I don't like to because of the location and the keyboard and my other daughter has one but she's been away at college and so it's always off and I don't know the password) but yeah, I need mine dammit!
