I'm not sure if I remember how to do this...

I sort of had a baby in November. Yeah. Well, no sort of about it.

I did.

I know. 47 and pregnant. I should get my own TLC show. But in July, when I was getting a bit rounder in the middle section and I thought I felt movement even though I couldn't possibly be pregnant because I had gone through menopause since I hadn't gotten my period for a really long time, I went to the doctor and lo and behold! I was pregnant.

So much better news, let me tell you. :) I cried when I saw her on the ultrasound.

She's perfect and her name is Piper. The little bundle of joy weighed in at a whopping 10 lbs 4 oz which is funny since I gained a total of 9 pounds during the whole pregnancy. Yeah I know. Go figure.

She's 3 months now. This is her.

I can tell you more about the pregnancy and birth and the joys of Piper later but for now, here are some pics behind the cut:

Talk about a 'What did you do over the summer?' theme, huh?

Color me flat out flabbergasted. You could not have surprised me more, Maria, if you had said you had just been accepted as an astronaut to the Space Program. This is not how it's supposed to work. Your daughter or daughter-in-law is supposed to do all the work while you have all the fun of being a grandparent.
Ah, I guess nature decided you were still young and vital. My congratulations to you and your husband for having the courage and ability to brave the rigors of parenting one more time. Such a beautiful child, too.
Warm hugs for both of you. ♥

Oh didn't I tell you? I was also accepted into the space program too. But I had to turn it down cuz you know...baby. *shrugs*

However, I heard they plan on putting chimps back into space so I gave them Mikey's number. :P

And yeah, I should be letting Alex do all the work now but hey! She's only 22 and she should have some time before that happens.

Young and vital mean totally different things after you give birth completely naturally and you can't get up and walk. I had Donovan at 40 and I was okay to go right after. This time I took a full 24 hours before I could get up and around.

Piper is perfect and beautiful and a sweetheart. I wouldn't do it any other way. Thank you JJ. *hugs you*
