Griffon's strange dirt bike photo
So we got Griffon riding dirt bikes.

Huh! Sounds like we made him do it. He wouldn't shut up about wanting to ride one of those things.

Hubby is so proud.

Joe took a bunch of movies of Griffon riding the bike but he couldn't really get any good pictures of him doing it. Stupid digital camera. Unless you're standing still, it blurs everything!

So anywho, he loves the thing and he's only crashed on it oh...about ten times or so.

Under the cut is a picture of him and his bike. I really don't know what stunt he was doing to get the bike to land like that. Joe took the picture of the scene after he made sure Griffon was alright.

So was he? Oh yeah! You know it. He wanted to do it again!

And this picture Joe got of him right before he got on the bike. He thought it looked cool. He looks so 'Rollerballish' here. I almost expect James Cann to come out of nowhere.

On another note. I think I struck GOLD! We're hiring extra help right now for the summer and I think this one kid reminds me of some of the kids we used to get in the beginning! He's so excited to be there. It's so cute! He'll be 15 in a few months but he looks 12.

He said he's been wanting to work for me since he was in first grade.

God, I hope that wasn't like 2 years ago! :P

A girl and her soccerball.

Griff is beyond pretty...he shall make an excellent consort to Her Majesty.

I can tell that what trouble one of them didn't think up, the other would. If he starts riding on the moto-x circuit? You'll be in trouble. The little girls will be all over him.

We should begin betrothal negotiations...skip all the hassle of them bringing home boyfriends/girlfriends/both for approval. If they know they are betrothed, they won't waste their time. OR get in trouble.

Draw up the contracts.

I so dread the whole calls in the middle of the night and little squeeing girls.

What a cutie. my boys are 11 and 14. All of their friends are now taller than me. I've told matty, my 14 year old he's never driving my car, I've seen him drive his go-cart. Sung to the Beatles tune: Baby you can't drive my car. A tune looks like Griff should hear.
Maria: Terror Planet Lock and Loadedslave_o_spike on May 16th, 2007 04:02 am (UTC)
Thanks! He is a charmer.

An 11 year old AND a 14 year old? *pets you*

Actually, I have a 15 year old and a 18 year old...daughters! Oh the fights! And my 19 year old sis-in-law lives with us too! *covers ears*

I can so see Griffon at 16. 'Dad? I'm 16 now. I want a superbike. A Ducati or K Ninja will do.'

Joe'd probably get him one. LOL!

They're taller than you? You know, I was taller than my mom AND my 2 older sisters at 13. It was weird. Go figure.
mosieandbeanmosieandbean on May 16th, 2007 05:03 am (UTC)
I need a new car. Matty figures whatever I get now will be his. ha.
He suggested I look at Audis. I told him his overwhelming optimism in the face of never gonna happen just makes me love him so much more.
Maria: Shaun That's it I'd like to be shotslave_o_spike on May 16th, 2007 10:39 pm (UTC)
I have an Audi. I love mine!!! The only problem is, if you don't know someone who can fix them, it could be very pricey. Hubby is an ex-Mercedes mechanic so no prob there. They are great cars though!

And kids are so like that, ya know? :P

Big kids
Or as my mother said to me when I was 13 - and she was serious - "You'll look up to me, young lady, even if you have to look down to do it." She had no idea why I cracked up. Mama was a lovely, empathic lady, but lacking in the sense-of-humor department. FanSee

Re: Big kids

I love that line!
singlewomansinglewoman on May 16th, 2007 04:09 am (UTC)
Boy is he going to have the girls lined up! What a cutie. Glad to see that he was well padded while riding. My 16 yr. old skateboards and I am amazed that I didn't spend every waking moment in the ER while he was perfecting his tricks.
Maria: Sweetheartsslave_o_spike on May 16th, 2007 10:41 pm (UTC)
Joe wouldn't let him start on the bike until he was well padded. Very costly but worth it!

And yeah! The girls are actually already starting. :)
my2catsmy2cats on May 16th, 2007 04:29 am (UTC)
He is a cutie and a dare devil...what a combination, lol. The girls going to line up around the block.
Your new hire reminds me of somebody...17 looking like 12,LOL.
Maria: Justin condomslave_o_spike on May 16th, 2007 10:44 pm (UTC)
I wish it were Justin! LOL! There's a picture of Randy in a brown suit where he's standing with Gale in the first season and I swear, Randy looks like he's still in middle school!

And oh yeah, Griffon - I can see him already with his bike when he's in high school, showing off to the girls.

J'rais.....?: Hornyherewego15 on May 16th, 2007 05:53 am (UTC)
OMG your son is so cute! He does look cool!!! Did you watch him when he was riding? Because I would totally have been in the house, trying to not watch. But that's just me.

I'm glad you have extra help this summer. Are you enjoying the beautiful weather? I always get scared when it's nice for more than a week, that means when it rains, it's going to RAIN!!
Maria: Bad Mommyslave_o_spike on May 16th, 2007 10:49 pm (UTC)
I didn't get to watch him at the time but yeah - it's hard to watch. Although I'd like to see him do the jumps hubby was bragging about.

It started to get cloudy again today! And now it's sunny and hot again!

You don't like the weather in Seattle? Wait half an hour! LOL!
shadownycshadownyc on May 16th, 2007 10:25 am (UTC)
Griffon looks great in his dirt bike garb. I hope he enjoys it and you survive it. ;)

Good luck with your new employee.

I think this new hire is great! He'll do fine. So will this other boy I hired (Brandin's bro actually). I'm not so sure about the girls though. :(

I'll survive. LOL! He's already proven he can handle himself when he crashes. Now the trick is to get him to NOT crash! ;P

How flattering it must be, a boy that has wanted to work for you for practically his whole life. If we could bottle or package the energy a 15 year old possesses, the world would be at our feet. It just has to be harnessed, and pointed in the right direction.
Is Griffon in training for his mother's bike? I bet his dad will get him a bigger one later. Dad's are funny that way. Your children are beautiful Maria.
Maria: Justin condomslave_o_spike on May 16th, 2007 10:54 pm (UTC)
I agree. We SHOULD capture it, bottle it and figure out how to make it work, then sell it for lots of money. I think we need MadScientist!Ted in on it. :)

I think that by the time he gets to 16, he'll be ready for his father's bike, the 1100. He'll be waaaay past the 250. LOL!

And thank you! :)

Tooo cute
Maria, Darling, Griff is too cute, simply too cute. I love the look on his face! Boys and their toys :-)(and I am talking Dad here too)

As for the kid looking so young. I think it might have to do with um shhhhhh us. All kids look younger and younger to me every year. WHADDYA mean he is 15, truly truly he looks 11....I think that all of the time.

Re: Tooo cute
Oh yeah - Joe too! :) He is a cutie though (must keep him away from Abercrombie until he's legal. ;P)

Actually, I thought the same thing at first. You know - we're just older. But even Alex said he looks like a little kid and Carly saw him running back and forth handing out orders outside the other day and her first thought was, 'is Maria hiring Griffon's friends now?'

So there you go. Of course, we could ALL be getting older...

My son was into the nice calm activities like street hockey, rollerblading, and skateboarding. All the local kids knew to come to me for their bumps and dings. My medicine cabinet rivaled any drug store. My son and The Ex learned early on to keep the major "events" secret from mommy as much as they possibly could. Like the time he drove a friends ATV into a tree at full speed, with no safety gear. The time he drove a car 70 miles, at age 14, with dad in the passenger seat. The time he fell off of a second story roof because he was trying to get into a (female) friends bedroom.

I'm amazed either of us survived.
Maria: BJ Caughtslave_o_spike on May 16th, 2007 11:02 pm (UTC)
See? They can't do that around here. The roads are too rough, there's no sidewalk and most driveways are always muddy and water-logged. I sort of live in the boonies.

I think that's great though. You're the mom they all go to! LOL! It sounds like your son and your ex were bad boys. The second story window thing made me LOL, seriously.

Hey! You're still here.

He is, innit he? Only my evil hubby got Griffon's hair cut into a *gasp* flat top. *wibble*

Of course, that's alright as his hair grows back so damn fast. He had a flat top last year at this time and look at his hair here!

Thanks! :)
