MY NEW COMMUNITY!!!!!
So I started a new community. It's based on the same premise as qaf_marathons.

I'll announce a horror movie (very 70's or 80's type movie with not as much slice and dice - no Jason or Freddy here and movies like Saw and Hostel are too new and too gory), tell you where to find it and watch it. Then I'll throw some questions are there, you answer them and a discussion will ensue.

See?

The community is called the_other_slash.

I'm thinking of finding the movies on youtube and leading people there. That way, for people who can't just go out and rent horror movies, they'll have access to the movie.

I won't be assigning wonderful movies like Spider Baby that's hard to come by or The Mad Room which is not to be found ANYWHERE.

So come join if this sounds like something you want to do. Pimp it around to your friends - maybe one of them will want to join.

It's all in good fun!!!!

I'm so there
You have wonderful taste. I haven't seen either "Spider Baby" or "Mad Room" in years, and I love those kind of more psychological horror films so much more than today's gorefests. Even schlockier stuff like "The Fury" or "Burnt Offerings" had greatness.

Burnt Offerings! Wow! That one takes me back!

Yeah, I don't really like the gorefests from today. Not even the bad ones from the 70's or 80's (well maybe some of them because they were so laughable but they don't really count as gorefests. LOL!)

I might actually do a mystery based on The Mad Room with Brian and Justin in tribute to this wonderful movie. I just wish it was on print somewhere. :(

Can't wait till you join the fun. :)

Re: I'm so there
The Fury had one of the most terrifying scenes I've ever seen - when the son is on the ceiling as the father looks for him in the room below. Oh fuck.

I KNOW!!!

That scene got me...along with the last one with Amy Irving and how she cleaned what's-his-name's clock.

I mainly watched the movie coz I had such a crush on Andrew Stevens at the time.
