Creepy Gnome vid and a Brian/Justin fic rec!
I'm posting because I awoke uber-early this morning.

Anywho, has anyone seen this video yet?

It's the story of the gnome in Argentina that a group of teenaged boys just hanging around caught on video with one of their cell phones.

The article is here, 'Creepy Gnome'.

There's a video of it there, but a bigger one that I found at youtube:

If it's a hoax, fine. It's funny.

But if it's not...

LOL! I love how it says 'town terrorized by creepy gnome.' You gotta wonder, why is everyone scared of someone less than 2 feet tall?

Maybe its the hat. Though I gotta admit, if that thing popped up outta nowhere at night, I would be creeped out to!

So I've sent chapter 9 (of Death Does Not Become Him) off to my beta so I should be posting that sometime soon.

I haven't read anything in the Brian/Justin fandom for a LONG while now, but I was looking over my flist and saw a new BJ wip by someone called crazyevildru.

I remember her!

She wrote this great long series called Two Parts of the Same. It's a series about how after Spike goes to live with Angel after Buffy loses her mother.

She's a wonderful writer and she knows how to do an amazing first person POV (interchanging one!) that makes you feel the panic and anxiety of the individual.

The Brian/Justin story I'm reccing is called Nowhere to Run. She's only up to 3 out of 10 chapters, but she's posting a chapter every other day.

It's based on a 'what if.' What if Justin had not been able to get out of harm's way at Sap's party. Of course we all know Justin and he's such a fighter, but what if he couldn't?

This is such a GREAT portrayal of EXACTLY what Justin would be like after it. PERFECT!

He's not overly being a victim and Brian is not an asshole, but he's not sappy. In fact, he's perfectly canon, because he's still the caring yet unsure Brian from early S2. Remember him? We all love that Brian. :)

I recommend you read it. She actually got me reading BJ again! :)

Okay, I'm sitting here snickering into my mineral water. Those big boys are afraid of that? *snork* Pansy-arses. If that popped out of the long grass when I was sitting around, I'd probably fall over laughing! (I used to collect books on gnomes when I was a lot younger)

More Death! WOOT! *waves pom poms about*

Seriously, the fact that the town is terrorized by this thing is hysterical. And that walk! LOL!

And yay for more Death! (First part is all porn).

Obviously, the gnome used to work for the 'Ministry for Silly Walks'. *g*

So, it's a whole town of pansy arses? lol

mmmm, porn! *slobbers all over you*

I heard there's this one-eyed hooker by the name of Lola in that town who can be seen wearing the gnomes pointy hat every Saturday night.

And I don't think that was a silly walk. I think he was line dancing.

*giggles cuz the drool is ticklish*

*snork* Something tells me Lola isn't dealing with a full deck... but think of the possibilities of having sex with a gnome... no wait, don't... I just squicked myself out! lol

Well, line dancing itself is rather silly, don't you think? Was probably invented by the Ministry!

I refuse to write that crackfic. Of course, if there was a Lotr character no one liked, I could write a gnome slash ficlet.

*shakes head*

Yep! The Ministry of Silly Walks was told to produce something in order to keep their funding, so they patented their walk and sent it to the States and voila! Not only did they keep their funding, they turned a profit.

And bought those nifty hats...

You can choose between Sean Astin or Andy Serkis. *g*

See, they're clever like that! And now they go around, line dancing, with their hats on, frightening the jelly out of silly Argentinians. *g*

See? I am suddenly inspired to write 2 gnome fics. LOL!

And isn't Andy a gnome anyway? LOL!

No, I have plans for Sean Astin...

*whistles innocently*

I swear. Only the "Sun" would publish such nonsense from teenage boys' videos. They must have run out of alien stories about impregnating whole towns. I wish I could laugh about it, but it saddens me so to know that some people believe it. The general level of intelligence seems to be taking a nosedive, and it is very worrisome to me because some of them are making the laws of the land and running the country.
They are the true monsters in this world.

Am off to read crazyevildru

Such a powerful story and such a good writer. I read all three chapters, but I'm not going to read any more. I can't handle the angst. I am off now to go look at kittens and fuzzy animals.
Maria: Brian scaredslave_o_spike on March 13th, 2008 02:30 pm (UTC)
The angst will be phenomenal, esp. knowing what she does with stories.

I wonder if I even can read it, being that I really don't want to read anything too angsty myself right now...

I'm trying to figure out if they just shot the film from way way back so the person looked small, or if it's a child they dressed up as a gnome and said, 'here walk sideways.'

And yes, the fact is in South America, there are some despots that make it so tiny villages all over the continent, want to believe such nonsense! And I do love how here, right on our soil, there are people gullible enough to believe this.

Still, it is good for amusement and I've already formulated a few gnome fics. And I think, deep down, in some tiny place inside of Maria, I wish it were true.

Just to break the monotony of real life and prove the existence of things fantastical.

I wish there were a better picture of the thing just so I could make an icon! LOL!

LOL!!!! OMG that creepy gnome thing cracked me up in a freaky sort of 'OMFG what the fuck?' sort of way.. I wanted to run over to it and STEP ON IT. LOL I know, I must be slightly fucked up, but whatever: it still made me laugh.
Maria: BJ copulatingslave_o_spike on March 14th, 2008 05:51 am (UTC)
You are so not fucked up!

I wanted to step on it too!!!!

Or pick it up, yell at it for walking sideways and then put it down again to see if it took my advice!
