An update about my writing

I've been quite busy as of late. I know. I always say that.

I just wish that life would sometimes slow down so I can do what I need to get down, what I want to get done and then do all the silly little things in between.

Between sick kids (Donovan had 7 spider bites and a horrid rash the other day) and sick hubbies (aren't those the worst?) and new and old employees causing havoc and ambitious county employees wanting us to tear down our shed (where our walk-in is), well, I've been...well...

I've been a little bit pooped.

There's been so many things in the news I wanted to share with you and dreams I've had where I got great ideas for stories and actual stories I want to write and RL events that I wanted to report on but I just couldn't seem to get the time to.

So I decided to make a pact with myself.

I would write for at least an hour a day and I'm going to make a concerted effort to look at my flist to see how you guys are doing.

I'll even post some stupid shit here and there.

These are the things I've currently got in the works right now:

As for the Orlibean fandom - I'm thinking I'll be done with Death Does Not Become Him by summer's end. This story is a mystery and I feel bad that I've updated to sporadically in the past few months.

Once I get my one-shot Orlibean looked over, I'll post that. It's dark and has to do with the guys in a very different situation.

I have two series, one short (like a three-parter) and one a bit longer, planned too. One is a Blurban and is just like all my dark comedies and then the slighter longer one is a spoof on Tampopo where Orli goes on a quest to find the perfect Mac and cheese for his beach front stand. He meets all sorts of characters like guru Viggo, Sargeant Bana and a Bean you won't want to miss. And let's not forget the Hobbits are there too. :)

I'm not going to make promises re Justin's Baby, The Hitcher or my cannibal!fic but I m going to make an effort. I have outlines for these stories (except the Hitcher because remember, that was just an experiment).

So there you go.

Oh, one last note.

I had a dream the other night. I told hubby about it:

Joe: I had a dream last night. I was in this strange looking field. It was so peaceful though. I can't describe it though.
Me: Yeah, dreams are fucked up like that. I had a dream last night that people were having their minds controlled by these little people and we acted just like the living dead.
Joe: So these little people controlled people...how? Cuz I'm kinda afraid to ask...
Me: We wore these people like hats...little people hats on our heads.
Joe: You are so disturbed.

I don't know. We could call it Night of the Living Hats.

Don't you just hate it when RL decides to kick you in the balls, particularly if they're only the metaphysical sort? It might be easier to recover if we actually had balls and got kicked in them, although I don't think I'd like to go around talking like Mickey Mouse.

I'm glad you've not felt you had to abandon DDNBH. That story totally rocks.

Night of the Living Hats. *snortgiggles* You are a twisted puppy, Maria. *squishhugs*
Maria: Orlando contemplatingslave_o_spike on July 16th, 2008 05:57 pm (UTC)
I wish I had a cock sometimes. Just so I could mark my territory everywhere.

Okay not really.

I don't want to mark my territory. I would just like to have one so I could go to the bathroom as easily as the guys do wherever we go. :)

The story, I must admit, is one of my absolute favorites now. I need to finish it because I do love it so.

And I just sent you a private message re my story.

*hugs you very very very tightly*

*lets you go so you can breathe*

Real life can get in the way of so many more important things. If there is just the tiniest possibility of more Justin's Baby I will stay on this chair indefinitely. Just saying.

Take care, don't overdo things, and above all, channel your dreams into more weird and wonderful stories. *Hugs*
Maria: lamppostslave_o_spike on July 16th, 2008 05:59 pm (UTC)
Neat icon!

Well, I would get up out of the chair every once in a while. LOL!

Actually, I have channeled a few of my dreams into stories and then sat back and said, 'what have I done?' :P

*hugs you and doesn't let go*

Don't worry about it sweets real life is a demamding bitch from time to time and when she is you have to give her attention first it's perfectly understandable. Doesn't mean I wouldn't be beyond thrilled to have you around more!

Yay for more Death and yay for more Orlibeans beyond that.

Seven spider bites... *shudders*

Look at Seanie blow!

Yeah...RL...and I've missed so much of your delicious eye candy!

Yeah, I plan on more Orlibean after Death. I'd give you guys a taste of the two new series but I only want one WIP out at a time.

I know. Seven!!!! Hubby was like, "God I hope he's not allergic to spiders (since we live in the mountains and all)."

And I'm like, "Seven! Joe! Seven! One I could understand. But Seven!!!!"

*shakes head*
Amy: Bloomamygirl on July 16th, 2008 06:25 pm (UTC)
Well...they're all still available just have to click on the EyeCandy tag on my sidebar...

I'm working on this weeks as we speak.

I hate spiders...we have some big ones here thankfully they've listened to me "Stay out of my room or I'll set the attack-kitty on your leggy ass" remark I made when I moved everything around 'cause they mostly stay out of there. I've trained my new kitty right she sees a spider she eats it... *snerks* That way they're not around and I don't have to feel bad about killing them because it's nature. Though I have let this one spider keep guarding her egg sack inside our sliding doors...I've named her Charlotte and everything. I just can't bring myself to kill her or the egg sack even though I know some of them will eventually end up inside.... *sighs*

You can squish me! I'm doing great *giggles*

I had my right eye and a cancerous mass removed on June 24th. The cancer was contained so I am perfectly healthy *beams* It was a very easy surgery and I have my appointment for my prosthetic eye next Wednesday *bounces*

*loves all over you*

I'm fantastic!!! Just keeping up with personal posts from now on as I don't want to strain my good eye *g*

LOL.. glad your mind works just as mysteriously when you sleep.

Seven spider bites? Come on, there has to be a funny story behind that one!!

Good luck with all your woes on the business front, and I empathise with the sick husband... worst thing ever *nods*
Maria: Maria's worldslave_o_spike on July 16th, 2008 06:07 pm (UTC)
Yeah, it's scary how my mind works when I'm asleep. Actually it's scary how crazy my mind works when I'm fully awake and sane.

I know. Seven! And I guess there could be. Like if I made the spiders talk or something...

Oooh, the spider bunny bit me!

Sick hubby = Insane wife

*hugs you*

Hello, Maria!

I've been quite busy as of late. I know. I always say that.

These are my words, so you know! LOL! I'm so behind fandom scene... I don't know what to do anymore. How am I going to catch up with all posts and stories? God!

I'm saving "Death Does Not..." into my memories. For "summer" reading. As I've told you many times before I love your "dark" and "weird" stories.

Have you read "Ice" by Vladimir Sorokin or "Cut" by Natsuo Kirino?

Maria: My Fandom has chainsawsslave_o_spike on July 16th, 2008 06:11 pm (UTC)
I don't know what to do anymore. How am I going to catch up with all posts and stories?

You can't. That's the bitch of it.

Of course, I write so seldom as of late, it's easy to catch up with my fic. I haven't posted much personal shit either.

You're saving my DDNBH? *does happy dance*

Thank you for that. Because that's about the extent of what I write. Dark and weird. I tried to write normal and I just can't.

No, I haven't read those. They are books, yes? I haven't read a book in quite a while. Are they good? Are they the kind I would like and delve into and never come out of until I was done?

harka on July 16th, 2008 06:52 pm (UTC)
"Ice" is very weird I must say. Its author is Russian, so it's not so strange the book is a little bit crazy. It's Sci Fi, but with reference to the "old red" days.

"Cut" is WEIRD according to its summary. I haven't yet read it, but you should check Amazon beforehand. It's a mystery-crime story. If you've already seen the film "Ring" (original Japanese version) or some other new Japanese films, then you know the story must be dark and weird squared.

I'm glad you don't know to write normal things.

Maria: hanging phonesslave_o_spike on July 18th, 2008 04:22 am (UTC)
I might have to check these out! Thank you!

roflol! Night of the Living Hats... LOL! Love it! Sorry you've been having a shitty time recently. Hope it all gets better soon. Hey, maybe your living hats and the dancing/scary gnome can get together and call it a night? ;)
Maria: mPreg Justin 1slave_o_spike on July 18th, 2008 04:25 am (UTC)
Oh yes! Dancing gnome hats! ROFL!!!

BTW, I just caught your post.

Congrats on it being a girl! :) I hope you're doing well and that that manager of your isn't giving you a hard time.

(Or I might have to revisit her in Cannibal County USA).
sevigny7sevigny7 on July 17th, 2008 03:33 am (UTC)
Hey Maria - I've been missing your particular brand of weirdness in my life lately. I hope stuff settles down for you, allowing you to dream up more Justin's Baby brilliance...

And if I woke up next to you every morning and listened to a recitation of your dreams, I suppose I'd toddle off to work dumbfounded, just like your hubby probably did. Does he know what you do in your spare time? ;-)
Maria: BJ slave_o_spike on July 18th, 2008 04:29 am (UTC)
JB Brilliance, eh?

I was writing about a boy who gets pregnant by the devil.

I actually do have a very concise outline on this one.

Oh yeah, he knows what I do. Every time I was finished with a chapter of cannibal!fic, he would ask me to read it to him. :)

And yeah, you probably would look at me in confusion every damn day, but it would never be boring!!!

*hugs you* I missed you too...

RL has a way of creeping up on you when you least expect it, doesn't it.

I hope your son has recovered from the spider bites, that must have been quite horrible!

I'm glad you're not giving up on DDNBH, it's such a great story and I would love to see an ending to it. Hopefully the 'writing an hour a day' works out!

More Blurban is always good too, so I hope you will be able to get it all done!

Have a good summer though, darling, whether it will be with writing or not! :)

Maria: Orlando sighingslave_o_spike on July 18th, 2008 04:32 am (UTC)
Yes, RL does! *kicks stupid RL*

Yep, Donovan is all better now and getting into different sorts of trouble.

The one hour a day is working for me. It gives me a goal yet doesn't let me overdo it and still get everything else done.

This Blurban will be...um...different. :P
