"Atonement" Orlibean standalone
So…here’s that Orlibean standalone I was talking about the other day.

It’s the kind of thing I usually write but it’s not like anything I’ve written before.

I know.

Maria logic.

I blame this on my strict Catholic upbringing and 12 years of parochial school. :)

And yes, the title of the fic has been used many times before but it just works here. Sorry.

Title: Atonement
Pairing: Orlibean
Rating: R
Warning: PLEASE HEED THIS WARNING. This contains references to the Catholic Church and a dark religious theme. If this bothers you, please do not read. If it bothers you, but you still want to read it, then by all means, go right ahead. However, there is no character death.
Summary: The Catholic Church defines ‘atonement’ as the reconciliation of God and humans brought about by the redemptive life and death of Jesus. It’s like the priest always told Sean, someone always has to pay for your sins.

Disclaimer: This is so not true. This is about as far from the truth as the Earth is to Pluto.

Beta: simplyshanni who, I know I’ve said this before, is made up of all kinds of awesome and who after having read it, made me feel better about posting. :)

Wow.

Wow. Wow. Wow. <-- those are good wows by the way, like REALLY good wows.

I can't tell you how glad I am you started writing Orlibeans because you always give us such amazing stories that I can't wait to read and devour. This one is no exception. Yes, it's dark, but what a powerful story - just the idea of it sends the good kind of chills down my spine, the kind I get when I love what I read.

Oh, and on a totally random note - I had to giggle at Orlando's bigfoot theory because in my last chapter of my Jake/Orlando fic Orlando was yammering on about sasquatch to Jake...I think maybe our Orlandos sneak out at night and get together to talk about us *snerk*

*starts thinking of two Orlandos together*

*droooools*

LOL!

Again I have inspired 'Wow!' :)

That about says it all.

I love writing Orlibean. It allows me so much room to work with and seriously, I really don't know of two more wonderful characters (actors). They are so perfect yet so flawed in their humanity. I think that's one of the reasons I love both of them so, esp Orlando. I know people make fun of him, but I can see why he does every action he does. And he's more beautiful for it.

Okay, *puts way philosophical hat*

Thank you Gigi. I love writing the dark and macabre, yet throwing some levity here and there. This is one is possibly my more darkest (I'm not sure if it's as dark as my other Orlibean standalone What to do when you're doing hard time but I think this one wins). I have to say if I created that effect on you, I'm a happy camper. :)

And you know, *looks sheepish* I haven't been reading your Jake/Orlando lately because I need to stay in the Sean/Orlando zone so I can continue DDNBH, but it is weird how are Orlandos are so alike. (And two Orlandos together is...um...yeeeeaaahhhhh...)

I throw Bigfoot in wherever I can because he's such a big rural legend where I live. :)

Thanks again! *wipes drool off you*

I love their dynamics as well - it's what drew me to them in the first place. Like you said, neither one is perfect yet I can see them bringing out the best in each other as well as giving it to each other when one starts moping about or growling *eyes Bean* :) They are VERY fun to play with *g*

I love macabre stuff so I'm glad you keep writing it!

Oh, that's okay - you don't need to read it, I know Jake/Orlando isn't everyone's cuppa *g* I was just pointing out how funny it was that our Orlandos were both on the trail of bigfoot - it makes me laugh ;P

That's a hard story but you wrote it really well.

Thank you! And yes, it was a rather hard story to write because putting Orli in that type situation is no fun but to hear your kind words, it looks like I pulled it off. :) Thanks again.
