I will be in New York at the end of August....
So I just saw this movie Friday night and I have so many questions and thoughts regarding it:

If you have a chance to see it where you live (it's like playing in one theatre per city), SEE IT!!!

Like I said, I still have thoughts and concerns about some of the plot. If you have seen it and wish to talk about it, send me a private message. I don't want to get into it here because of the spoilers.

Hubby and I are still talking about it and have come up with all these different scenarios.

Seriously, if you are looking for a movie to watch, GO SEE THIS!!!

I hope everyone's 4th of July was good for them. We usually have a 5 to 6 family gathering with a HUGE picnic and fireworks my hubby buys. He puts on quite a show. This year, because a BIG family illness with my neighbor and because the flood took out most of their grassed in area, my family just kept it to our property and ourselves.

We still set off mortars and some huge fireworks, (with the little fireworks for the kids to play with) just not the usual but it was kind of nice all the same.

And now regarding my opening topic, I will be in New York around the last week of August for anyone who might be interested in getting together one day. Just a thought.

January? Whoa. (Was that at Sundance?)

I love Gerty and love that the only resemblance he has to Hal is the voice (Kevin Spacey was awesome as the voice).

I was thinking 2001 and Bladerunner and maybe a little Silent Running. I love the morality issues this movie brings up.

Yes, it premiered at Sundance - Rockwell & the director were present for the Q&A afterward. Trudie Styler was one of the producers, so Sting and David Bowie were there as well, which was also amazing of itself. And I typed "Dark Star" but I totally meant Bruce Dern in "Silent Running" - you are right on the money! Is that even on DVD? It has been YEARS since I've seen that movie.

I grew up wanting to have furniture like Space 1999's Moonbase Alpha (maybe a little less orange!) so I really loved the design of the film too - hard to believe the budget was relatively low for that look and the effects.

I also loved the fact that even though you could see the plot twist coming, it was done so well that it still felt fresh at the end.
